Last years ciLent site

The Resurrection of Our Lord is the basis of our faith. Jesus Christ lives, hence the great joy of all Christians!

Sacrifice should be very much part of our everyday lives. Lent was a good period of training in self-denial. We should now keep up our efforts for the rest of the year. Don’t try and do too many things. Pick two or three things which you can give up and change them every so often.

Small acts of self-denial can train us in our efforts to stay in good shape in our spiritual life.

What is Sacrifice?

If you don't deny yourself you will never be a soul of prayer.

That joke, that witty remark held on the tip of your tongue; the cheerful smile for those who annoy you; that silence when you're unjustly accused; your friendly conversation with people whom you find boring and tactless; the daily effort to overlook one irritating detail or another in the persons who live with you... this, with perseverance, is indeed solid interior mortification.

Care for little things
... Do everything for Love. Thus there will be no little things: everything will be big. Perseverance in little things for Love is heroism.

Because you have been In pauca fidelis, faithful in small things, come and join in your Master’s happiness. The words are Christ’s. In pauca fidelis!...Now will you neglect little things, if heaven itself is promised to those who mind them?

Didn’t you see the light in Jesus’ eyes as the poor widow left her little alms in the temple? Give him what you can: the merit is not in whether it is big or small, but in the intention with which you give it.

Great souls pay much attention to little things.
